Peacock Island

Peacock Island is located southwest of Berlin in the Wannsee.  The island was owned by royals and their getaway.  Now, visitors can come to hike around the island (about a 3 km walk) and tour the small palace.  And the best part, you have to take an hour boat ride to get there.

Funny picture using the timer on my camera.
This is working very well to hide...

 Which window is real...?

It is called peacock island for a reason.

East Side Gallery

The East Side Gallery is a perserved section of the wall in its original location that has been painted by artists around the world.  All of the painting speak out against topics such as injustice and racism.  I explored the East Side Gallery with my German class.

And this is my German teacher on his "Berlin" bike.

Adventures making Pfannkuchen (German Pancakes)

These pancakes are much like crepes but thicker like American pancakes. My host mom taught me how to make them. We eat them for dinner every Thursday. Here's the recipe...
3 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
And a little salt

Mix together batter. Cook till barely brown. It does not take long. Eat with nutella, applesauce and cinnamon, jam, pie filling, or peanut butter.

I also had cookies for dinner. My host mom made them and I haven't had chocolate chip cookies since I got here.

A pink lunch

Actually quite tasty. Pears, pasta, beats, lettuce, sunflower seeds, and some onion.

Brooke Fraser Concert!

Brooke Fraser is a singer from New Zealand. I absolutely love her music, and we were fortunate to catch her while she was in Berlin!

The lighting was not very suitable for photography. Although I have always what I would look like if I were completely red.
