Ireland

I had a wonderful time in Ireland!  Everything was so green and lush even in October.  I spent time with my roommate from college, Katelyn, and all of her lovely friends in Cork.  We had a great three days together.  I hope to go to Ireland someday to explore more the beautiful country.

I tried Guinness for the first time!  Not my favorite beer, too heavy for me.
Kissing the Blarney Stone.  Yes... I am hanging out the side of the castle.

Katelyn's college.  Univeristy College of Cork.
Yes... UCC has 3 college bars.

Ireland for the weekend

Made it safely to Ireland for the weekend.  I am visiting my friend Katelyn from Wartburg for the weekend.  It is absolutely beautiful here, but it is very weird to hear people speak English around me.  It has actually been very difficult to get used to.  I can only imagine what it is going to be like coming back to the States.  I love the Irish accent, and all the people are so nice here.  Kissed the Blarney Stone today!  Hopefully good luck will come my way!

Kyle in Munich

Kyle flew to Munich, Germany to meet a family friend.  While he was there, he explored October Fest and toured Dachau Concentration Camp, which his grandfather helped liberate during World War II.

German Reunification Day

We attended a festival celebrating German reunification at Brandenburger Tor on Monday.  It is a national holiday in Germany, much like the 4th of July.  It was neat to think that where this festival was was where the wall once stood.  They are celebrating 50 years of the wall and 20 years of unified Germany this year.

This photo is neat because those bricks in the road show where the wall once stood.  Now this boy can ride his bike on top a line that divided so many families.

Berliner Weisse is a white beer that you add flavoring to.  It is a very nice summer drink.  We had raspberry flavor.

Peacock Island

Peacock Island is located southwest of Berlin in the Wannsee.  The island was owned by royals and their getaway.  Now, visitors can come to hike around the island (about a 3 km walk) and tour the small palace.  And the best part, you have to take an hour boat ride to get there.

Funny picture using the timer on my camera.
This is working very well to hide...

 Which window is real...?

It is called peacock island for a reason.
